This brings back nostalgic memories. I miss the Internet from 1996. No fancy web services with jQuery, HTML5 or CSS3. Just basic HTML3 and 640×480 resolutions.
I’m not a big fan of the term ‘gamifaction’ being projected on every possible domain. I do believe that games are great tools to learn or to express. We see it when we look at animals but also when we look at humans. Personally I found this talk quite enjoyable.
Schell states that beyond Facebook, beyond consoles and even computer screens, games are becoming the medium for everyday life. Inspiring as it is, I don’t think I will start gamifying my classes anytime soon. I’m way too busy unlocking Portal 2 achievements.
